THE SHIPBUILDER
Noah built a ship.
'Twas the first big cruiser;`
And he took a long time doing it.
Because he lacked a computer.
Drawing and designs he got from the sky,
But sea he had not any;
His neighbours peered and jeer'd
" Where will he get water?"
One day an elephant lifted his trunk.
And the pigs began to squeal and grunt,
Great clouds were dark'ning above,
And flashes of lightning soared.
The [censored] didn't know why he did.
But about he galloped and brayed
For mothers to gather their kids,
For a threat'ning storm him scared.
Two snails ran very fast.
They led the concourse to the ark,
Noah stood at the door counting pairs,
The owls thought it was dark.
Two lions roared, two monkeys chatter'd.
Two snakes stuck out fork-ed tomgues,
Two tigers snarl'd and bared theit fangs,
No man dared to steal aboard.
Soon his menangerie was complete.
And Captain Noah lockt the door.
To set his motley crew afloat,
The first voyage began, there was no doubt,
Well.f course, on dry land!
And forty days a sailing went.
Where there was no water before.
The rains they pour'd and pour'd.
The tightly filled bargue was very snug,
Two by two the animals snor'd;
Father Noah cauled some leaks,
Mother Noah nurs'd and they ate leeks.
Otherwise all things were shipshpe.
Until the cats began to caterwaul.
When the parrots did tell,
Noah angrily got swell.
When the dogs began to laugh,
Noah curs'd both cats and dogs.
"For you dogs it'll be painfully long,
And you cats, will scream and bawl."
When no longer thee seem'd no rain.
Noah sent a dove again and again;
Once it came back with muddy feet;
And then it found seds to eat.
When Captain Noah open' the doot,
Away went for a bath the ducks;
The lions hungrily view'd the sheep.
Tha elepnants warned them not to touch.
And Mr. and Mrs. Noah earnestly pray'd.
Rainbow to have , no flood nor fire;
May they never sail again.
With circus animals and a zoo.
