Single parent (dad died) waitress for 20 years and she raised a boy who got into a Honors Program (min avg required 80% on the Sciences). He did even better he got final admission before even completing grade 12 as he has a 90+ average and has gotten enough scholarships to cover him (and if he maintains his current work ethic the scholarships are renewable for the next 4 years)
and she describes him as disciplined well mannered etc ... sigh
