IT all started with a harmless game of hide and seek, and ended with a collaborative rescue by Police, firefighters, paramedics, Tatura SES and Shepparton Search and Rescue Squad.
A man from Mooroopna in country Victoria, aiming to surprise his girlfriend with his clever choice of hiding spot, had climbed naked into a top-loader washing machine, where he became firmly wedged, reports the Shepparton News.
Shepparton police Sergeant Michelle De Araugo said the man had attempted to climb into the washing machine on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called, and after 20 minutes, freed the naked man by greasing him up with olive oil.
He was very well wedged in there and we were concerned for his health and wellbeing,'' Sergeant De Araugo said.
''It was just a game gone wrong. It would be fair to say the gentleman was very embarrassed.''
More details at the Herald Sun.
The incident occurred just days after an eleven-year-old girl got stuck in a top-loader washing machine in Utah, United States.
The girl was playing inside her Utah home with her older sister and their cousins on Tuesday when she became stuck inside the machine.
The children tried to get the girl out using peanut butter, butter and ice, to no avail. Eventually emergency services were called to remove her after 90 minutes of entrapment.
