The United States Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, has warned that Haitians who have arrived in the United States illegally after last week's earthquake will be repatriated.

Aid officials in Haiti have started to put up tent cities on the outskirts of the capital, Port au Prince, for up to 400,000 people.
They say this is to try to halt the spread of disease in the makeshift settlements that have sprung up.
