Western Union sending staff to music fest
Friday, February 10, 2006
Western Union Money Transfer will be sending its entire staff to the Cayman Music Festival on Friday 10 February – VIP style – as a way of showing its appreciation to the staff members for their hard work during 2005.
“The staff did such a good job of promoting our Gold Card and we wanted to show them our appreciation,” said Samantha Paul, Public Relation and Marketing Manager at Fidelity Bank (Cayman) Limited, franchise holder of Western Union.
Western Union is one of the sponsors of the event and Mrs Paul said that the company made a decision to buy VIP tickets for more than 30 staff members.
She said that Gold Card is being used in the Cayman Islands more than any part of the Caribbean.
The Western Union Card programme automates portions of the Western Union Money Transfer process, making transactions easier and faster for consumers than the manual process of filling out forms every time a transaction takes place.
Rather than filling out forms, the customer simply presents the Western Union Card along with proper identification and signs a receipt to finalize the transaction.
The Western Union Card has been launched in select regions in Europe, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Cayman is among the growing group of Caribbean islands to receive this new technology due to the well-positioned and island-wide reach of Western Union’s Agent, Fidelity. Regionally, Jamaica, Trinidad, Dominican Republic and Aruba are among the many islands that have launched the Western Union Card.
The Cayman Music Festival, which is presented by the FC Football Club in association with Lifeline Promotion, will feature Jamaican international reggae artiste Freddy McGregor, and world famous musician Maxi Priest.
The event is an all day event beginning at about 8: 00 am. Local acts booked for the show is Mr Positive, Lion Asade, Little Pinch, Jameset Brandish, Anju Priest, Impluz Band, Michelle T and Love Culture and many more.
