Stanford 20/20 bowls off today

The inaugural 19-team Stanford 20/20 knockout tournament for a winning prize of US$1 million will bowl off at the Stanford Cricket Ground today.
The event on the field will commence with the competition’s brainchild R. Allen Stanford bowling the first ball to Sir Vivian Richards, one of 14 legendary West Indies cricketers who are part of the 20/20 board.
The action on the field will begin proper when the United States Virgin Islands clash with St. Maarten at 3 p.m. in the tournament’s opening match.
The USVI team will feature former Leeward Islands and Antiguan allrounder Hamish Anthony along with ex-Leeward Islands and national aggressive fast bowler Dane “Bangadoo” Weston.
