The Government has seen further success in its effort to contain the public sector wage bill. Latest data from the Ministry of Finance show the Golding administration has spent $700 million less than it had planned to pay workers.It had projected to spend $75.5 billion on wages and salaries between April and October.However, actual expenditure totalled $74.8 billion.The saving was derived as the Government maintained the public sector wage freeze.It is currently in discussions with trade unions on non-monetary ways of compensating workers who are demanding the seven percent wage increase due to them under MOU Three.
