More than two months after the passage of Tropical Storm Nicole, two communities in St. Catherine are still cut off from vehicular access. Judith Marriott, People's National Party Councillor for the Above Rocks Division, told RJR News that residents in the area are forced to find other measures to get to and from their community."From Big Hill to Spring Field the road is impassable (and) people are still trapped in the community. Residents have been trying to clear some of the minor blockages but there are some major ones which need heavy duty lifting equipment. I requested the equipment on October 1 and to date, nothing has happened," Ms Marriott said.
