St. Thomas contractor and Jamaica Labour Party activist, Kayon "Treasure" Campbell, the man at the centre of damning allegations against James Robertson, Energy and Mining Minister and West St. Thomas Member of Parliament, has been released on bond. He was offered $1 million bail when he appeared before the Yallahs Criminal Court in St. Thomas on Wednesday.The presiding judge placed Mr. Campbell under virtual house arrest by imposing stringent bail conditions.He has been ordered to surrender all his travel documents and a Stop Order was placed on him, preventing him from leaving the country.He is to be confined to his Kingston 10 apartment but will be allowed to attend The University of Technology where he is a student. If he wants to leave the premises for any other business, Mr. Campbell has to obtain permission from Assistant Commissioner of Police (CAP) Les Green or Mr. Green's nominee.His university timetable must also be supplied to ACP Green.If these documents are not supplied he cannot leave the premises.Mr. Campbell, who is charged with attempted murder and shooting, is to return to court on March 31.He was taken into custody two weeks ago for allegedly violating his bail condition.He was charged last year with the attempted murder of Ian Johnson, the man who has made damning allegations against Mr. Robertson, The police said he violated his bail condition by not reporting to the Half-Way-Tree Police Station since August.Last week, the cops told the Yallahs Court that they had not been able to verify the address Mr. Campbell gave investigators.
