A St. Catherine businessman has hired an attorney to retrieve $2 million confiscated by the police during a raid at his premises in the March Pen Road community, last month. The matter was brought up for mention in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court, but the case was put off until January 20.According to investigators, on November 27, members of the St. Catherine Street Crimes Unit, assisted by personnel from other police formations, went to March Pen Road.During a raid, the police went to a business place operated by a St. Catherine man.During a search of the premises, the police noticed a huge stash of cash.The cash was seized and the business man was briefly detained at the Spanish Town Police Station.However, investigators held on to the money, as the businessman was unable to give a proper account of how he came into possession of the cash.
