The trial of former head of the failed Olint Investment Club, David Smith, will not begin on Monday as scheduled. A source close to the case told RJR News on Sunday night that the hearing has been put off to a date to be announced.Last month Smith's defence team requested a spring trial after filing a motion seeking a date in April.The team said based on the complexity of the case, the need for investigation and the possibility that it will have to retain experts the trial should be pushed back.The former Olint boss was arraigned in an Orlando Federal Court in Florida in November on 23 fraud-related indictments.US marshals flew to the Turks and Caicos to take custody of Smith, who was already serving a six-year sentence, on fraud and conspiracy charges.Smith is accused by federal prosecutors in Orlando, of bilking thousands of investors out of more than US$200 million.He faces charges ranging from wire fraud to money laundering.Federal prosecutors say more than 6,000 people from Orange County, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Jamaica and elsewhere, invested in Smith's companies, including Olint Corporation. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...67597683283461
