PRIME Minister Bruce Golding has challenged the National Housing Trust (NHT) to find more creative ways to reach out to non-homeowners for 2011."It is something that has been a burden on this Trust ever since it was created," Golding said. "The fact of the matter is, and this is something that we must not hide from, that the housing solutions that are available are still beyond the reach of a large number of persons who contribute to the Trust," said Golding.Golding, who was speaking yesterday at the Trust's 35th anniversary rededication and flag-raising ceremony at Emancipation Park in Kingston, said he will not accept the argument that there were persons who still cannot afford proper housing."Like you, I am not prepared to ever come to the conclusion that there are some people who cannot afford to be housed. A way has to be found," said Golding said, adding that one way is to attract non-contributors.In his adress, NHT Chairman Howard Mitchell said that the Trust, in recent times, introduced significant policy changes to help ease the challenges faced by under-served constituents. He said since its inception, the Trust has created just fewer than 143,500 mortgages."In doing so the Trust has had a profound impact on the lives of people," Mitchell said.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...67868223256407
