A high-level team has been mobilised to conduct field visits to areas of St Ann and St Mary, following suspected cases of food poisoning. The team is headed by personnel from the Ministry of Health, as well as the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce. The visits are against the background of eleven reported cases of food poisoning which occurred in December.The poisoning resulted in one fatality. The Ministry of Health is also investigating other cases of food poisoning from areas within St Mary and St Ann. One of the cases involved the preparation of a meal consisting of fish and potato salad.The other reportedly followed a meal of ackee and saltfish.
