The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has called a meeting for Friday to discuss plans to boost the country's generating capacity. Prospective bidders have been invited to the talks.The OUR has issued a request for proposals for the supply of up to 480 megawatts of base-load generating capacity on a build, own and operate basis.According to Michael Bryce, Director of Consumer and Public Affairs at the OUR, the meeting has been called to provide answers to interested parties."We have invited all the prospective bidders whoever they may be, who may have an interest in the request for a proposal which the OUR has put forward for the provision of 480 megawatts of power to the national grid. Two hundred and ninety two megawatts of that is being proposed to replace aging plants and the balance is to add generating capacity to the grid, so any an all with an interest in this project may come to the meeting and ask their clarifying questions," Mr. Pryce told RJR's Financial Report.
