Eastern Caribbean citizens can expect to see no-hassle travel in the sub region by the first of August this year. This was one of the major decisions taken at the just concluded 52nd meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Heads of Government in Grenada. The decision was announced on Tuesday by Grenada's Prime Minister Tillman Thomas. He said when the legislation for hassle-free movement takes effect, citizens of OECS member countries would be able to travel through the sub-region using either a National Identification Card or a valid Driver's License. There was also continued discussion on the establishment of an OECS Commission. It is expected to function like a regional parliament with power to create legislation for implementation in member states. This organ is likely to be headquartered in Antigua and would have legislative authority in at least eight areas ranging from finance and trade to immigration.
