Thursday's sitting of the Manatt/Dudus Commission Enquiry came to a premature end on Thursday morning.Representatives of the Attorney-General's Department who were expected to produce memoranda that were used by the US to request the extradition of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, explained that they did not have the documents at this time.The representative said the Department was willing to share the four MOUs with the Commission, but had to obtain US Government permission before they are circulated.The Commission had requested to see the documents after Permanent Secretary in the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Evadne Coye mentioned them during her testimony last week.Meanwhile...Chairman of the Manatt/Dudus Commission Enquiry, Emil George Q.C described as "regrettable" the circulation of witness statements, before they were tendered into evidence.In his opening remarks on day four of the Enqiry, the Commission Chairman noted that the statements were confidential.The statements of Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Opposition Parliamentarian Dr. Peter Phillips were the subjects of newcasts aired on Radio Jamaica and Nationwide Radio.Mr. George says the Commissioner is unaware as to how the documents were circulated, and requested that persons refrain from circulating witness statements until evidence is given.The enquiry is to resume on Monday.
