The Government and Opposition in Trinidad and Tobago have agreed to pass legislation to resume the execution of convicted killers.In a rare display of co-operation, Prime Minister Kamla Perssard Bissesar and Opposition Leader Keith Rowley not only agreed to cooperate on the bill but brought forward the date to February 18 for the legislation to go to Parliament.It has been over 10 years since the twin island republic has been able to execute a convicted killer.A major element is placing of murders into three categories.For brutal and very deliberate killings, the death penalty will be the fate for the convicted.On the lesser charge of manslaughter, the convicted will receive a life sentence.
