Former fast bowler and Captain Courtney Walsh says the West Indies should not be written off at this month's International Cricket Council (ICC) 2011 Cricket World Cup.The West Indies are entering the tournament with the lowest ever ICC ranking, ninth, a few points below Bangladesh.However, despite these statistics, which also show that the regional side's last one day international victory over a fellow test team was in June 2009, versus India; Walsh says they still have a squad that can win the tournament."if I was to put a wager on it, I wouldn't bet against the West Indies because if they find form at the right time, it's a team that I think can spring a surprise on you. I believe they have a good enough squad now to do well," he said.Walsh added that he is expecting an open World Cup with no clear cut favourite."Australia might start as the favourites because they've always played good consistent cricket. England has a very good Ashes tournament, so their confidence would be up leading into the world cup.
