General Manager of Operations at the Transport Authority, Cecil Morgan, told our newscentre this afternoon, that the truckers decided not to pre-empt Tuesday's meeting with Transport Minister, Mike Henry.Mr. Morgan also says based on that meeting, the Authority will decide if it will be going ahead with a series of meetings in the North East, Southern and Western regions, scheduled for later this week.The truckers have been up in arms over the decision of the Transport Authority to increase carriage licence fees from 11-thousand five hundred dollars to 20-thousand dollars.The Transport Minister in a statement advised that based on discussions he held with the management of the Transport Authority last week, a reduction of the new truck licence fees is being considered.Mr. Henry says the decision is to be communicated to him by Wednesday after a detailed examination of the matter by the Transport Authority.
