Hip-hop star Wyclef Jean has given his backing to popular musician Michel Martelly, one of two candidates in Haiti's presidential run-off election next month. Mr Martelly, known as Sweet Micky, is competing against former First Lady Mirlande Manigat.Jean's own presidential candidacy was rejected by election officials last year.The US-based singer said he decided to endorse Mr Martelly because he's technologically savvy and has a charismatic personality that will "help raise money with donors" and bring change to Haiti.Official campaigning for the runoff election was due to begin Thursday (today).
