The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is examining statements collected in the controversial police shooting of Negril, Westmoreland guest house operator, Frederick "Mickey" Hill.The file was submitted last week, by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM). DPP Paula Llewellyn stated that her team was in the process of examining the statements.The file was first submitted in December, but was returned by the DPP, who requested additional information.Mr. Hill was killed under controversial circumstances by members of a police party on November 4.His killing angered many in his community and tourists who did business with him.The 47-year-old guest house and boat operator was fatally shot when he was accosted by members of a police team.It was reported that the cops asked to search a bag he was carrying.Mr. Hill was reportedly in the process of showing them the contents, when he was shot three times, in the chest.The cops claim they seized a gun in the incident, but this was strongly challenged by eyewitnesses.Residents also claim that the policemen involved in the shooting were wearing masks.The policeman at the centre of the investigation has reportedly given a statement admitting that he fired the fatal shot; however he claimed he was firing at gunmen who were in the company of Mr. Hill. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...79523475424215
