Jamaican UK Lobby Group Facilitators for a Better Jamaica has thrown its support behind the call for a Revolution by Marc Ramsay. The FFBJ is a not for profit registered think tank and lobbying group that specialises in being an effective voice with a mandate to speak up for Jamaica and Jamaicans' interests in the United Kingdom and internationally. The membership is made up of experienced and passionate individuals whose desire is about effective change in Jamaica and the countries in which Jamaicans reside and was created to address a clearly identified need for an independent voice for Jamaicans living abroad to speak on the political, social and economic issues affecting Jamaica and Jamaicans worldwide. Indeed, the giant is threatening to go on the rampage.Politicians would do well to take this on board. One senses that the era of corruption and punch and Judy style bickering will not hold out for much longer.Jamaica is not under the rule of a dictator. But the sense of power that ordinary people living under dictatorships have begun to re-realise of late is spreading like wildfire. It's spread to our shores here in the UK and has enthused young people in Jamaica.A good thing too.Just as the 26th of March here in the UK will prove to be a decisive day in fighting the most draconian cuts we have experienced in a generation, the activism we are seeing grow in Jamaica will be equally decisive in changing the political spectrum.Ramsay is not alone in his thinking.Jamaicans must march, lobby, challenge, question, pressure, and hold Jamaican politicians to account at every opportunity.Ultimately it will only be outvoting the old guard and exerting such a force of pressure that can and will lead to a change in political culture.FFBJ director in a brief telephone conversation with Marc Ramsay found the young man with his heart in the right place and found that what he is saying is an echo and it is resonating throughout the nation which he sensed while speaking to Jamaicans as he is in Jamaica presently."There is clearly a cry for accountability and transparency with elected officials" Mr Sydial said. "If The Jamaican Government maintains that they are modelling the Westminster System then while the Westminster model is not perfect there still should be the process of lobbying and challenging Parliamentary Officials. The people must feel that they have a say in the system it should not just be a top down process only"Power concedes nothing unless met with demand. Jamaicans must demand change now and seize on the momentum that is building.Marc Ramsay's call should not fall on deaf ears.Richard SudanFacilitators For a Better Jamaica ( UK)http://ffbj.org/wordpress/?p=112
