Jamaican motorists will have to pay significantly more for fuel when they go to the pumps on Thursday. Today, the state owned oil refinery Petrojam announced a $2.47 increase in the price of a litre of gasoline. This is the sixth straight week of increases. It will cost $96.99 to buy a litre of E10- 87 gasolene, while E10 -90 will be sold for $98.64 per litre. Petrojam says the upward movement is due to changes in the US Gulf Reference prices. Meanwhile, a litre of automotive diesel has been increased by $2.62 and will be sold for $100.63 per litre. A litre of kerosene will sell for $104.34 following an increase of $2.68 per litre. However, the prices of a litre of propane cooking gas and butane have been cut. A litre of propane has been reduced by $2.68 and will be sold for $37.52 per litre. The price of a litre of butane will sell for $47.51 following a $1.55 decrease. As is customary, retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
