A man who used a machete to injure a woman, with whom he reportedly had a relationship, was remanded when he appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's (RM) Court on Tuesday. Dwayne Watson of Santa Cruz is scheduled to return to Court on March 18 when his case will again be mentioned.Resident Magistrate Sonya Wint Blair remanded Mr. Watson, despite a vigourous application for bail from his attorney.The court was told that on April 15, 2010, Mr. Watson used the machete to damage several window blades of the woman's house before entering the building.He chased her with a machete which he used to chop her.However in his defence, his attorney said on the night of April 14, 2010, Mr. Watson's former girlfriend, took men to his house to attack him.The court was told that shots were also fired at him as he ran.The Santa Cruz Police are carrying out investigations into the allegation.Despite a plea by his attorney for the court to grant him bail, he was remanded.
