The West Indies surrendered their last three wickets for just 3 runs to lose their Group 'B' match against England by 18 runs in Chennai, India Thursday.The loss has delayed their progress to quarter finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.Jamaica's Andre Russell had taken 4 for 49 to help restrict England to 243, with debutant Devendra Bishoo supporting with 3 for 34.Jonathan Trott and Luke Wright made 47 and 44 respectively for England.Russell then returned to top-score with 49 for the West Indies, who began their reply well ahead of the required run rate with Chris Gayle hitting 43 from 21 balls.Captain Darren Sammy, batting third, contributed 41, but there was little resistance to England after the loss of Russell in the 42nd over.Ramnaresh Sarwan, made for 31 from 68 balls while Kemar Roach was dismissed for a duck as the West Indies were bundled out for 225.Sammy said the match was theirs to win, and tried to explain what happened."We have few positives we can take from this game but at the end of the day, we lost the killer instinct," he said.The West Indies remain in the hunt for a quarter-final spot despite the defeat.They will play India on Sunday.
