Call him what you may, but Usain Bolt knows what it is to have a good time. After smashing the 100-metre race in a record of 9.69 seconds at the Beijing Olympics last Saturday morning, the 21-year-old introduced 'to the world' the dancehall move, 'Nuh Linga'.
And, the creator of move, Marlon 'Overmars' Hardy of the dance troupe, Ravers Clavers, is greatful for the exposure.
"Mi feel great inna mi self, fi si seh di fastest man a do my dance and break the record on my birthday," said the 24-year-old dancer, who lives in Nannyville, St Andrew.
In analysing the sprinter's off-the-track routine, Overmars gave him a passing grade.
Whole performance
"Mi like the whole performance [dance moves] ... Him have di whole framework, but it nuh look that bad," he said.
"Mi have a shirt for him when him come home," he added.
The party-loving Bolt, on a local television station, said he was anxious to return home to party at the popular New Kingston nightclub, Quad. And, the operators of the five-year-old club are happy about that.
"We are very excited at the fact that he would think of us as what he misses about Jamaica," said Sean Lyn, marketing manager of Nitetime Promotions. The manager said that the sprinter oftentimes comes the club to party.
"Bolt comes to the Quad and chills with his friends whenever he gets a chance away from his training," Lyn said.
The manager said that they were more proud of Bolt, as a Jamaican, accomplishing so much at a field which he enjoys.
Loves to have fun
"Usain loves to have fun and enjoy himself, while still keeping his focus in achieving his goals," he said.
Lyn said that he was in the process of planning a party at Quad on Bolt's return.
"We are very excited with Usain's true Jamaican performance ... and we wish him many more victories to come," Lyn said.
