DIRECTOR OF TOURISM
Primary Responsibilities:
· Providing leadership, direction and management of the Jamaica Tourist Board in order to ensure the continuous development, expansion and successful marketing of the tourist industry so that Jamaica enhances its position among the leading tourist destinations in the world
· Establishing and maintaining key strategic partnerships/relationships with national, regional and international stakeholders in the tourism, commercial, government and related sectors
· Effective management of the human, financial and physical resources of the Board.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
· In-depth knowledge of the tourist industry
· Proven expertise in the area of marketing and promotion
· Knowledge of the global influences on the industry
· Knowledge of related government systems and processes
· Knowledge of the government policies relating to the industry
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build mutually productive working relationships with key players in the industry
· Excellent communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
University Degree in an appropriate discipline; post graduate degree would be an advantage
Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a tourism related enterprise, five (5) of which should be at a Senior Management level.
