Price of JA Blue Mountain Coffee to double
Consumers are to start paying significantly more for Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee.
That is the word from the Coffee Industry Board, which has implemented a new minimum grade requirement for all roasted Blue Mountain Coffee.
The board says effective October 1, coffee which carry the 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee label must be the same quality standard wherever it is offered.
Based on this new regime and the current international green bean pricing for Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, consumers will have to dig deeper in their pockets to purchase the product.
Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee is regarded as an exotic coffee and is one of the most expensive in the world.
