I watched it too. I think I'm going to like it. Did you expect that end scene Nunya? I can say I surely didn't. I knew there were going to be problems because his mom warned him about the climbing, but I was not expecting it in the first episode.

I'm also looking forward to the storyline between the blonde lady and the barbarian.

No I did not expect that! Lawd... I had some problems keeping the names and the relations straight... so this morning I woke up and googled... and saw that the guy who pushed Bran out the window was actually the twin of the woman he was caught shagging...

flippin heck! No wonder she kept saying 'he saw us! he saw us!'

Gotta say, except for too much sex in my opinion, the first episode was a winner!

Thanks for that explanation Nunya. There is so much going on that I can't get name, clan, nor species straight. I was not clear whether I had even seen them before at any time in the episode.

Combine that with me just starting to watch The Borgias and Camelot and .

Incest was kind of rampant huh?

The books are excellent so I've been dragging my feet to watch the series. I've heard nothing but good reviews so far though.

Yeah, getting the unusual names right was a challenge... another reason why I had to jump on Wiki to set me straight...

The white haired brother and sister - did you see how he was squeezing his sister's tit, making sure she was 'perfect' for her intended??? Have never read the books, but it seems that their race was notable for 'line marriage' where brother and sister are habitually wedded...

Anyway, I hope that that brother get a 'good' end after hearing him say to his sister, 'I would have Drogo and all his 40 men and their horses ____ you, if it means I get my kingdom back...&quot;

Now see who you are calling &quot;white-haired&quot; is who I'm calling the blonde lady. Seems like the sister is going to be a true force to reckoned with later.

She appears meek now, but if she grew up with her brother saying inappropriate things like that all the time, then believe me she is not.

I didn't know that it was a series of books. I'd read them buut that never works out right. Books are always better than movie or show. I might be willing after the first season is over, but for now I just want to watch and enjoy without preconceived notions.

@Tulip the show is pretty good so far; the books can wait, plus the author is taking his time to finish the series.

Couple of characters seen in episode 1 but not named until episode 2:

The Hound - Joffrey Baratheon's guard
Rickon Stark - youngest son

I enjoyed the second episode as it got into the characters more. My favorite scenes were any with Tyrion especially when he slapped Joffrey. My next favorite was when Arya gave the 'little prince' his comeuppance even though I knew it would end badly. Still, they made me laugh.

It was very moving when Jon was saying goodbye to Bran and Catelyn told him to leave. Later Jon lied to Robb when saying, &quot;Your mother was very kind.&quot; Ouch. Shows how much the brothers care for each other though.
