Having never even heard of the books, I could tell that Ned was going to get axed it's like dude's got a clause in all his contracts - that he must be killed \0/... shyte... as soon as Robert died, I knew Ned was next... And he died without telling Jon who his mother is...

Dani and her champion (what the hell is his name????? ) I hope something comes of that, though she'll prolly figure that no other man will ever hold a candle to Drogo and so remain abstinent

Hey, it looks like the Lannister who pushed the kid out the window is starting to have a change of heart or a change of ways... wow! I was prepared to hate him forever although it was damned hard with him being so good-looking...

So now the little sister has to blend in as a boy and how ironic that her 'champion' is the bastard son of Robert and the rightful heir to the throne, though unbeknownst to them... I wonder if Ned had managed to share that secret with anyone before he lost his damned head?

The season premiere was excellent - well-paced, good dialog, a Joffrey slap (every episode should have one), the blood-chilling scene with Robert's children, etc. It feels like the writers are really driving the story unlike last year when the show felt driven by the novels.

I will be in the Gym on the eliptiocal trainer for an hour watching the seasons premiere down loaded yesterday

... I read the 5 books and am half way through the sixth on my kindle..

I would recommend the books hold heartedly..... But must admit I would not have read them without the series!

Just say the Dwarf ends up in some strife later on the run...The king slayer loses a hand in series 4, and becomes a good guy.... , Arya gets some brilliant things to do....The fat fellow turns into the great hero north of the wall.. Bran . The Targerians are not all evil... Neds wife goes mad.....The blond Queen gets caught in a Iraqi quadmire....

Because over the years u all have spoiled so many series for me. Bear in mind the series are seen over tbe rest of the world after the US. U imagine watching 24 and finding out who dies? Revenge.

Note I have not mentioned who will die. But the king slayer is a very interesting character in the later books.. Here he does nto get much to do....

Lord Davos has been introduced earlier than I expected. Liam Cunningham (irish) is a very able actor. He was in a British Series Called Roughnecks with that Scottish Actress who was in Ugly Betty.. So was James Cosmos the Knight commander of the wall... Liam stole scenes from Richard Gere and Sean Connery in Lancelot, he simple has the ability to set his mouth and remain extremely still.. He is the kind of character that gives an air of comfort and condfidence with his presence, a working class lad.. who worked...!

Liam would have been King Stannous because in the book severve unbending.(I thought of him as Stannous as I read the books)... i got the impression Davros was smaller in the books wiry... loyal... I kept trying to see if he has fingers or the pouch.round his neck.

Robb in the books is 16 much younger.In the books he sets Balon free for friendship. Here it was for pragmatic reasons. This is a better reason for how that will play out.

They met Caster o. the way up. Jon seems to be focus of the ire not the fat fellow. I hope they stick to the books on that story line. A un attractive man attracts a woman.

Bran and direwolf relationship is begining.

I love the Dwafs whore. shiri... But thought she had more magnificent mammaries though!

the scene with the queen and little finger is not in the book. But there is the roots of the rivalry with Viyrls.

I dont think the killi.g of the babies are in the books. But it makes sense for the pursuit.

I thought the hound was too small...


Evan a dragon are seen briefly. in the books there were 3... I think blondi queen is a character that will grow as per teh books that is worrying... In the books I looked forward to her storylines..Her character will evolve with her power.. There is alot here she is just in the desets with her horse dying and no way forward....so far I cant see the prettty pretty actress can pull off a charistatic leader... So think they missed a trick to change the actress after she came out the fire! Much the same as I cant see Lena Headly pull off the manipulative Cercei...

I cant wait to see the icewalkers.... These were mentioned in the first episode...


I also thought the Red Priestess Messalindre was a bit too Irish....


I also expect they will compress the books... The first series was driven by teh book as BS said...
There are alot of good british actors in there...

There are some very good female characters in there... Cercei, Messlindre, Neds wife, Shiri...

But the Dwarf and Bonn are back... With their side kick from the hill tribe.. Shagger!

Deh wedding feast ah deh 3 4th book ?????Book 2 ends in a battle with the Dwarf... Deh first black charater a pirate.Who asks the basic questions of the Onion Knight! .. Yep the onion knight... He lost his fingers. Showed him moving peices and the pirate mentioned it... The onion Knight is that Agnostic in the face of the franatism of the one god cult... His basic solid common sense comes through!

The Iron Island has come into it.. Another British Character actor is the king...The incesteous seduction attempt was shown. But the Iron Princess character is more clear than in the book and yes she seems a better bet than her vainglorious brother.

The relationshipp between Arya and the murmmer has started. And here it works well.... though Araya is obvious a girl to every one... not tom boyish enough!

I think Bonn charater is developed too fast...Tje dwarf is starting to doubt him.... Yep fat boy is the one that does the right thing....No dragons this week and a glimse of the undead!

No Shagger from the hill tribes mentioned.!!!!

Love the books love the series..

Watched the Fellowship of the Ring yesterday... loved it! Learned that Viggo was the third choice for Strider and Russel Crow turned it down....! And Bruce Willis wanted the Sean Bean part....Thought that Sean Bean played a similar character in the Game of thrones... a slight twist...

see in the book, Davos is the pirate known as the onion smuggler..he lost his fingers wen the King who he use to smuggle stuff to cut off the end of four as a punishment before he allowed him to serve him out in the open..the Pirate carried the fingers in a stringbag around his neck...maybe dem mek changes for the series...do they mention the giants at all...dem could incorporate dem into the series as dem did wid di half giant in Harry Potter..but i can see wat they r doing..following the story of the Starks vs the Lannister or however u spell di dwarf dem last name...i am going to buy the series and watch it from the start..i think i watch one episode last year but have not watch again.....the end of book three was startling dont..now dat took me by surprise ...fi real...neva expect dat atall atall.....

btw Wahalla am waiting to hear how dem deal wid di odda wedding scene..di one wid King Robb etc...now dat was also di bomb aldoah i suspected wen di Frey guy kept asking y di wife was not wid him..stilll it was a surprise...di books r deadly...sometimes i had to stop n remind miself seh is pure fiction..fi real...one complaint is dat some of the name eida repeat r too similar...had me rereading to mek sure...did u have dat problem...but like u said...they r lovely reads if u tek the time to go tru dem...

yeah I had a similar problem, there were also complications in the middle books as to whom was whom abd where they tied in on the previous plot.... I am stuck in A dance with Dragons part 1... kind of billias of it....But the fact of the matter I was rooting for the return of the Targerians at this point tells what a shift there was and how metastable the regimes are.. Stannous who I thoroughly disliked was a hero....

My two favorite characters are the Dwarf and Jon Snow.....What I like is the concept of expedience in history... The incest was off putting!


I want to see how they show the Wet God sacrifiices!
