Stumbled across this show yesterday. What a hoot..... It is the perfect fluffy content and it doesn't require even one spec of grey matter to process it.

These restaurant employees are a bunch of cooks everything from:

- frisking every female patron
- hitting on female patrons even when dem is wid dem man
- teifing VIP coupons from the manager's office
- pocketing the $20 bills customers include with their payments and replacing them with VIP coupons
- bringing their own booze, putting up a sign offering super cheap liquor specials of the day and pocketing the money
- partying with guests
- letting guests come in the kitchen and cook their own food and mix their own drinks behind the bar
- leaving the bar unattended to go and drive limo (yup moonlighting on the job) - this after a night of drinking with patrons
- filling a garbage bag with $500 worth of booze, pasta and other food items and walking out the door with it (the manager was too busy hitting on the female patrons to notice)

Anybody else seen this? Does this really go on. I was totally and....

'Mystery Diners' sneak into Gauchos Village in Glendale, Calif.

Last night's Food Network episode of "Mystery Diners"was titled, "While the Cat’s Away … " where Charles Stiles and his crew of undercover diners came to meet with Kevin Aksacki at his restaurant “Gauchos Village”in Glendale, Calif. He recently returned from a paragliding accident in Brazil, and when he returned, found discrepancies in his restaurant. After operating a thriving Brazilian churrascaria restaurant, he is now losing money, and nobody can give him an explanation why this is happening. So he called in Charles Stiles and his team to get to the bottom of his problem.Facing more surgeries, he has no choice, but to find out who is to blame before he leaves again. Charles and Amber met with Kevin and found out that his inventory did not jive with his amount of sales. His general manager Miguel, responsible for ordering and his chef Gabriel are the prime suspects. The hidden cameras were set up; Amber will be a customer to test the policy of the restaurant. They will start the sting on the day delivery of meat comes in. Grant will again be undercover as a waiter-in-training.
When Kevin saw the operation, he was surprised that he could see every aspect of the restaurant. As the meat was delivered, Gabriel and Miguel were fine with the delivery. As Spencer, a server came in, he was reminded that they are having their barbeque this weekend, and he was happy and will certainly be there. Kevin called Miguel to tell him about Grant coming in, and that he would soon be going to Brazil again. When Miguel got off the phone, upon hearing the news of the new server, he swore out loud and called his boss a pain in the ***.
When Grant came in, Miguel explained the operation to him. It is an all-you-can-eat type of restaurant, but diners cannot take anything home with them. Spencer told Grant that Kevin was like a legend. He fell like 5,000 feet and lands on his legs; he is like a cat with nine lives. Charles instructs Amber to take as much meat as she can on her plate and keeps asking for more. As Amber asks repeatedly for a to-go box, but Spencer will not budge. Finally, Miguel comes around the table and as Amber bats her eyes at him, and agrees to attend his barbeque this weekend, he relents. When he brings out a giant box of meat, filled to the brim with prime meats, he then comps her meal.
When Grant asked Spencer about Miguel, he told him that Miguel was his boy, and that they hung out together. Miguel has an awesome house with big flat screens, plush carpet and even a hookah room. He even tells Grant that he sells the best meats to his employees for pennies on the dollar, otherwise the food would go bad. The way he described it, there seems to be an overabundance of meat purchased, then split up among the staff. Grant then goes to Gabriel and asks him about the employees buying the meat. Gabriel does not seem to go along with the theory, but Miguel is the manager and tells Grant to go along with what he says.
As Spencer is about to leave, he asks Miguel if he can get some meat. He gives Spencer a huge ten-pound top sirloin for $20. Then Miguel has Grant help him carry a large box of filet mignon wrapped in bacon to his truck and invites Grant to his barbeque. Then Miguel goes in and helps himself to a case of alcohol.
As Kevin has seen enough, he confronts Miguel and brings him to face the music. As Charles introduces himself, Kevin is in shock. Miguel wants to talk to Kevin alone, but Charles will not let him do so. Miguel tried to wangle out of the mess he got himself into, but was fired on the spot. Kevin told him that the pain he felt breaking both of his legs could not compare with the pain of his trusted employee betraying him the way he did.
After four months, the restaurant is back in the black, Miguel has found employment elsewhere, Gabriel has been elevated to executive chef and Kevin is running the restaurant himself.
