I have been looking for the Cashflow Quandrant in the book stores here but it seems as though I will have to order from Amazon.

Definitely buy a used copy on Amazon and sell Rich Dad, Poor Dad if you have it. Cashflow Quadrant repeats it and expands on it so need to keep that one (eBay works fine).

Cool! ...You said the info is repeated, but expanded....In what way are the details in Cashflow Quadrant different from Rich Dad Poor Dad? Wanna see if its something I can look at for future purchase also..

Rich Dad, Poor Dad is great for the basic mindset of investing and valuing business more than schools tend to value it.....but....

Cashflow Quadrant is key to understanding WHERE to invest time, energy and money in order to become financially free. He will always promote real estate as a good option but the book focuses more on the portions of the quadrant that you can make money from.

That is the quadrant and stands for the following areas you can earn money from:

<span style="font-weight: bold">E</span> - Employee who works for someone. Don't go to work, don't get paid. Earnings are capped by someone else no matter how hard you work in most cases.

<span style="font-weight: bold">S</span> - Self-employed like Dentists. Don't show up to work, don' get paid. Earnings limited by days worked and amount charged. You only have so many days in the year so your main option to increase earnings is by raising price.

<span style="font-weight: bold">B</span> - Business owner, such as Dentist who owns a practice that hires other dentists. Able to earn money without showing up, work smarter not harder, more growth potential, lower tax brackets often.

<span style="font-weight: bold">I</span> - Investor, puts money to work in someone else's business or their own business. Able to sleep and still make money. Invests in the Bs.

The point of the book is that the top half of the quadrant is not the road to financial freedom and it does a much better job of explaining and supporting that idea than Rich Dad, Poor Dad.

p.s. If you buy the book and don't like it, I will personally refund you the cost of buying it if you provide the receipt, that's how much I recommend the book.

Hey Thanks for 'breaking it down for me' .. Yes, seems to get a little bit more specific than Rich Dad Poor Dad.... Will look into it...

That is so kind of you! ......but I may just keep this one for my library .....

ETA: I would add that Rich Dad poor Dad gives a very good foundation though. I think he had an edition for young people/teens. I would recommend that also for the young minds....

I was taught not to read too many books from the same author so I am always cautious, especially when I know that the author repeats information.

Once you read Cashflow you will see why you don't need Rich Dad. As for the other books in the Rich Dad series, you can avoid most of them too, I've read most of them and only kept Cashflow.

Too late! I've read Rich Dad Poor Dad. In fact, I own a copy (cd)..That's why I wanted to see how Cashflow differs from Rich Dad Poor Dad....but I can see where you are coming from with reading a lot of books from the same author.....well, depends on the book (s)..
