<span style="font-weight: bold">The Oxford Book of Caribbean Short Stories</span>
Our ambition for this anthology is that it will engage, entertain, and inspire its readers, whether they are new to Caribbean writing or already committed to the literature of the region. To that end we have chosen stories from acrosss the wider Caribbean - though predominantly from 'the cricket playing West Indies' - which seem to us both distinctly 'of' the region and yet accessible to a wide readership. The collection contains sufficient surprises to keep even the most avid student of West Indian writing turning pages while including enough excellent stories from the other landguage traditions to reming readers that the Caribbean is a multilingual, multiethnic space.
