The same guy that wrote 'Lexus and the Olive Tree' and 'The World Is Flat' wrote this one.

I just picked it up so I will have a review when I'm done. Would love to see a discussion on it and the whole "green revolution".

Personally, I think humans have thought for too long that they were smarter than nature and so failed to learn from what was already around us.

The Sun has provided energy to plants and in turn animals for billions of years.

We didn't bother to copy that idea until recently.

Nothing goes to waste in nature.

We still haven't gotten into that one yet (witness all the electronics we toss).

Humans are full of hubris to think that they can out-create nature. Just study nature and replicate/harness.

Remember thisyiou can archive it. jamaica will be getting all it's energy ftom alternative sources.
not including ethanol, becauae i don't think that is a logical option.
cars will be utilizing the technology involved in the new GM VOLT. they will collect the energy from available sourses store it in automobiles and rduce th eneed for hydrocarbon.
that is the tesson why i am not intrested in seeong jamaic aget in a political union with trinidad,but after that technology is instituited, in th eenergy industry,we will be the darling of the caribbean.
it is not even extraordibary expensive. even cheaper than wind technology.

The GM Volt is already behind. Toyota and Honda are going to launch plug-in cars, Tesla Motors already has one and 10 years from now 20% of electricity will be generated from renewable sources.

When you can charge your car from home and only see your electricity bill increase by $100 or less, it makes Hybrids like the Volt look like crap.

Add to that the increase in efficiency that we will see in construction thanks to LEED standards, you won't even have an energy bill over US$100 for a 200+ sq. ft. home.

GM is dead.

No hybrids will be the car of the future.
even the Volt will have an engine. Not a regular engine,but a gas powered generator to extend the range of the car. All alternative energy motor systems will have an old fuel back-up for a lonf time.
telsa car is too expensive,for ordinary users.
Yes in jaiaica we will get th elajoroty of our energy from solar power,and it will also b eused to charge Hybrid-electric vehicles. which in th enear future will be the mode of transport,and even when the hydrogen cell car comes along it will be supplumented with electricity to extend it's range.
the problem with hydrogen cells is that they need to get the base from water instead of methanol as they are currently doing now and GM will have theor out, before totota,because toypta shold be eraly next year, while GM should be next month. Honda is also bringing out their plugin hybrid too. The more choices the better.

All technology starts out expensive and as production costs decrease, the price decreases as well so the Tesla today is expensive, but the sedan they are working on will cost half as much and the r&amp;d they are doing will lead to even cheaper plug-in hybrids.

Gasoline as a fuel for transportation is a thing of the past and humans are going to focus on renewable sources such as electricity from solar power, cellulosic ethanol and new biofuels that use waste.

You are quite right that the future is bright

i am reading this book right now and so far what the author says is spot on (ok not quite up to page 75 yet)

please do not read this book if you have insomnia mi a function pon 2hrs a sleep sayka dis book
