Bob's children had their own seeds to sew. To only live off of their Father's works would have been way too unfullfilling as they all had the talent to deliver their own material. Given that they separated and went in unique directions from their time together [well at least some of them] with the Melody Makers says it all. The Marley children are their own people. Heck...one of them [Rohan] played CFL football in Ottawa.

As I suggested...and as is the case with UB40 trying to make a go of it w/o Ali Campbell...the Wailers without Bob are what? There is only 1...count 'em ONE...man who had/has the pedigree to fill those shoes...and Bunny Wailer has no inclination to do it.

So who are these other people especially Miss Weave-on?

Somebody has to keep the tunes alive... Over 50 years after the fact one of the original Beach Boys...plus another who joined the group about 3 years in [circa 1965] when Brian Wilson stopped touring...still tour and THAT sells product/keeps the name alive.

I guess that's what these folks are doing???

You mean Mike Love not war who everyone loves to hate?

I wonder why Brother Records allowed him to license the Beach Boys name in perpetuity.
When I first saw videos of he group I thought "Who is that guy?" Then I started reading about him.

There are websites, Facebook groups and blogs focused on Why Mike Love is a ______ . Fill in the blanks with a range of derogatory expletives.

One says:

Any positive comment towards Mike Love will be deleted without any further notice.

Besides the fact that the dances like a goof...

.... and his beard and clothing look ridiculous at times...

he is a legend in his own mind and really into himself. I can't find it but I read an account of someone who was backstage at a concert. Mike arrived by helicopter at the last minute. Someone was there to spray his face with water and wipe it with a towel. He went on stage without saying boo to anyone, performed and headed straight back to the helicopter when it was over.

Also I have seen a video for his speech at the Rock N Roll awards.

Still it couldn't have been easy to deal with one cousin who had severe psychiatric problems and another who was stoned out of his mind half the time.
