Last night I was on the phone with a friend and asked if he saw the BIG movie..he said no and he doesnt care to..me get offended and ask why..him seh because he doesnt think BIG was ish...his death was prolly the best thing that happened to his career. According to him Tupac is a way better rapper.

Anyways who is unoo favorite rapper/s and why? Who unno doan rate?

i think biggie was a better rapper than pac in terms of straight up flow and wordplay...
but i consider pac the better rapper overall just by realness and giving you something for the mind...

but i definitely don't think biggie was garbage;

'ready to die' album is sheer genius...the man was blessed with the rapping skill;

i tend to gravitate to late 80's & early 90's rappers as the best;

-brand nubian
-krs one
-wu-tang clan
-nas
-biggie & pac
-ice cube


after the corporate heads saw all that real talk they brought in this new crop to lead the youth astray..
these 'lil' guys like lil wayne, lil john, lil flip, lil scrappy, etc.

the focus became more on partying or flossing senseless sexualism or killing each other off or how much drugs you could sell (snowman)...
or the 'young' guys- young jeezy, young joc, etc.

nah tell no lie..rap get real lame

my friend's arguement was that Biggie kept rapping about the same ish

vs Tupac who would rap about a whole spectrum of things...from uplifting positive stuff to street stuff

definitely didn't rap about the same thing...

'juicy' is totally different from 'gimme the loot' is totally different from 'one more chance' is totally different from 'suicidal thoughts';

my list is similar to JY's, I would add Jeru, Chuck D, and Immortal Technique, and take Pac off completely.
