where it got boring and nearly lost me was when Baps left the jamaican heaven with god to travel to the american heaven


I lost all interest when they left JA. and had to force myself to finish the book.

I think The Lunatic is the better book from Anthony Winkler.

if u like mysteries and haven't read christopher brookmyre, i recommend A Big Boy Did It and Ran Away.

Dont know it this is what you are looking for but......

one of my favorite authors right now is <span style="font-weight: bold">M.J. Vassanji</span>
He is an East Indian raised in Uganda. I discovered him in a bookstore in Jamaica.

I love his perspective of how one fits in to one's surrounding. What markers define your sense of self.

I have read all of his books but my most favorite is:

What I read was good, but I only got a couple chapters in, maybe 4 or 5. After I read the one for the book club I will probably check it out too.

You know, I have this in my &quot;to be read pile&quot; (which never goes down because I keep adding). I got it at less than half price at Borders or something. Thought it looked interesting so I picked it up. That was almost a year ago. Never heard anyone reccomending it, now I am intrigued.


My favorite Anthony Winkler is by far Dog War.

Have some suggestions myself but waiting on Nylah question fi get ansawd. What yuh mean by international fiction? Any particular genre?

Coless, I know the feeling I kept saying I wont go into a bookstore until I have read the pile of books I already have....cant seem to stick to the plan!

I really love all of Vassanji's books. His style of writing appeals to me and so does the subject matter. When you get around to reading the book, please let me know your thoughts.

And why Gen cant come answer the dang question.
