Di price still a kill mi. I really think that it may be another couple of years before we see a much cheaper e-reader, atleast under $100.

Right now they are saying that The Nook is the e-reader to beat. And I cant wait to see Amazon's answer to this one.

So far, here are the features that appeal to me:

1. You can lend your ebooks to other readers with the same software on their computer or even smartphone
2. Can uplaod pdf files
3. Access to over 500,000 free library books
4. Color touch screen display (I think it may be a double screen, but only the options are color, the reading screen may not be)
5. BN is also a publisher so I think the price options on the books may be cheaper, and because they are a book publisher I think that people may trust it more for reading than say amazon and sony.

So although it will result in the reduction of 50% and more in the cost of books, you still want them to give away the reader??


Get real man, if you don't pay as much for the books, surely you cab put some of that savings towards the reader?

What is the value of the books you read last year?

And how would it compare if you bought them on a reader?

I am trying to hang on to see if they slash price for the holiday season but the money pan mi amazon account waiting fi press &quot;checkout&quot;

a good competitor but most reviewers still say that the Kindle still a lead especially since you can now dowload internationally.

the Nook has a wireless connection but only inside B&amp;N stores, you cannot do wireless connect elsewhere from what mi read , critics say that if someone goes in to the store they are there to physically &quot;touch&quot; the books and not browse books on the Nook.

I think both has pros and cons, and it will boil down to the individual's preference.

the Nook has the same amount of memory like the Kindle, but it will have the option to add memory with an expansion slot.

As far as I know $100 does not even cover the cost of the screen and other materials, so no, I dont expect them to give it away, but I just think that $259 is still a lot of money, in my opinion.

And in my opinion; because I know I will still buy hard books, the reader for me will not save money but will be more of a convenience.

Do you know that as it stands now, only 8% of the reading adult public owns an ereader? And critics speculate that it is because of price. So, because many believe that the price is high I do think that in the near future they will develop a way to make the ereaders less expensive by coming up with materials that do not cost as much to produce. That way the price can be less and they can reach the mass market.

I think it will get cheaper and it will get better, and its not gonna cost me a thing to wait until after Christmas to get one, because we all know the price will go down by then, and full color options will be available and the download will be faster, etc etc.... In the meantime, I have 26 books sitting on my &quot;books I have not yet read&quot; shelf. I will be ok until then.

You know that if they produce a reader that as cheap as $100 today,to cover the cost it will come with some subscription to thrash that nobody will want to read.
Or it will not last the first trip on a holiday,due to cheap production..
How many of us remember that computer that lacked the capability of a cheap phone today was costing more than the top of the line unit today.
I remember that every time Is But a new model computer to replace the one I gad before, the newer one was always cheaper. It is still so today.
same with the case of most technology.
and So it will be with the E-readers It is just a matter of the longer it take for them to be popular enough to be cheap,is the longer we will have to wait for the price to become that low.
i still think that there will be free E-Readers, before cheap or &gt;$100 E-readers.
I have been using a reader for years now, It is called the tablet. That is what we use in the hospitals around here and it have everything including color.
You can't download anything, to it though,unless you are in the buildings.
I am looking forward to when i can have that sort of convenience with wireless download and capacity to match.
I would like to see it as cheap as a dollar, but I know, the strings will be attached. so for the time being I will pay for it.
