Strange when some one smart educated and sexy agree with me... one interesting thing that she reminded me... The president Dos Santos the arch capitalist has been in power for over thirty years....And his power was consolidated by the Cubans,, yet he chose the traditional path of African leaders..

You had me google this book.
<span style="font-style: italic">In Dead Aid, Dambisa Moyo describes the state of postwar development policy in Africa today and unflinchingly confronts one of the greatest myths of our time: that billions of dollars in aid sent from wealthy countries to developing African nations has helped to reduce poverty and increase growth. </span>Source: dambisamoyo.com

Re: Started Reading Dead Aid
Africa does not get any aid from Europe.
they Get a fraction of the compensation for it's resources that Europe take fraudulently.
Europe does this by promoting and recommending African crooks as worthy political leaders.
They do so by their ownership and control of the media. These crooks allow them to maintain the colonial regimes with only cosmetic changes.
This is after they claim independence..
So the bribes, some of it under the guise of aid. is only a fraction of the value of the production of the continent.
The Europeans use their international network of mercenaries to overthrow any african leaders that go against this policy.
when that is too difficult .
As happen in countries that actually fought for independence like Zimbabwe.
they use the press, the UN, the IMF and the dumb so-called educated blacks internationally.
the reason why the countries that fought the colonials for independence, is that they still have large caches of arms.
That is the difference.
Now we get to the reason why blacks are not allowed to the right to arms,in all the colonies that claim they are independent.
They would eventually get real independence, due to the deterrent effect of an armed citizenry to military takeover, of government.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Peasie</div><div class="ubbcode-body">You had me google this book.

Re: Started Reading Dead Aid
She is half educated.
She talk about the aid [censored] if it is free aid the countries are getting.
She completely ignore the fact that all the productive sectors including arable lands are still under control of the countries that are giving aid.
The countries effectively have no means of economic support other than the lands that the Europeans control.
the same Europeans that decide how much to pay for the production.
the same ones that took every penny with them, when they grant them independence.
the same countries that kept them under developed and attract their skills to develop their war torn countries. Yes the same countries that are giving them a part of the profit off theri lands, and label it aid.
The woman is an idiot.
probably a sexy idiot as you say, but an idiot anyway. She is being used.
The Europeans knew quite well that the pittance they are sending instead of giving up th elands in Africa. So that th eAfricans can di whatever they want with their countries. They woin't do that. And the woman does not understand the effect of theownership of the lands in Europeans hands. She is an idiat. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Wahalla</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Strange when some one smart educated and sexy agree with me... one interesting thing that she reminded me... Re: Started Reading Dead Aid
No, Doc. Here is her hypothesis:
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
In the past fifty years, more than $1 trillion in development-related aid has been transferred from rich countries to Africa. Has this assistance improved the lives of Africans? No. In fact, across the continent, the recipients of this aid are not better off as a result of it, but worse—much worse.</div></div>
I do however, wonder about her 'free trade' solution to Africa's economic woes.
as she mentions in this CNN interview

Re: Started Reading Dead Aid
She is a tool. You watch her becoming a leader of some African country in tn future. The Europeans fully well know that the development aids will be unsuccessful.
Look at Jamaica..
They are always repairing just about every roadway.
Yet the highway built by the Europeans in Jamaica that they own.
will not need all that maintenance.
If the Europeans build a similar roadway for the local authorities, it will not last.
This is not an accident.
Let us look at agriculture in Jamaica...
The aspect of agriculture that were ed by the Europeans had adequate irrigation.
The aspect owned by the locals do not.
In every developed country they have irrigation for agriculture.
So the farmers invest in their farms, but are destroyed.
yet the foreign owned agriculture is irrigated.
Now you tell me that this woman does see that in her obsrvation??

Re: Started Reading Dead Aid
She has no solution.. She is either afraid to identify the real problem in the economy. That is the continued ownership of all the arable lands in the African countries, by Europeans,That their production is use to shift the profits top Europe, and with Africa achieving the minimum of returns from their production. The other problem is that the ris no international support from the intellectuals for thi to change. All they see is the action of the symptoms, and not th diseases that cause those symptoms. You can treat the symptoms, but all will happen is the patient will eventually die. He will die from the disease, while you are busy probably treating another symptom.
