I have googled like crazy but the name just alludes me

I read that too but that isnt the fugue itself. Enya didnt write it. It was written by Mozart or Bach (I think) but I cant find it anywhere on youtube. I just know the melody and my brain cant rest til I figure it out.

I do love her version if it but I am just being miserable wanting the original is all

I absolutely love this Fugue. It has been used in TV commericals and shows numerous times.

okay here is what I think is a simple example of a fugue. You can hear the two (actually more) different lines of music that are imitating each other.

Essentially playing the same theme but in a different key and interpretation. Tell me if you can hear it not - the theme/melody be re-interpreted over and over.

Enya's version will have to do until I figure it out. I am getting tired of searching youtube now I need to find my CD case of The Score and then I can see what the hell the fugue is called.

I actually, didnt really start digging this stuff until I had to take a Fine Arts class and choose music in University. I had a fantastic teacher because she made it all interesting and it was cool to &quot;hear&quot; things you never did before in this genre. The light bulb went off for me.

The same teacher made me love opera..Maria Callas especially...at a time when I wouldnt have paid it any mind.

this is a great example Bach was known as the King of Fugues. Beethoven and Mozart wrote fugues but re-defined them in a sense for their time period. It is a little harder to pick up that u are listening to a fugues with their peices. I think some of thier fugues are called sonatas and canons if my memory serves me correctly.

What I love about fugues is the moodiness they can convey with the counterpoint thing going on.

yes that's it..it you get pulled into this crazy ride..

ahh..canons and sonatas..did not realise they were fugues

I was watching a documentary on young opera singer at an Opera School in OHio..they actually had a bredda interestly enuff he was, also, very passionate about gospel..
