rasta people were intricately involved in the development of jamaican reggae music, so many were naturally drawn to the medium of the modern-day african griot...
of course there are some who locksed just for the image if that was perceived as the thing at the time...
but many are genuine &amp; just representing i an i culcha...

But what's up with the speach. I love patois but how do they expect foreign journalists to understand them. It's not as if they can't speak standard English. Don't tell me that Johnnie Clarke (who I love dearly) has forgotten how to speak English. I don't buy it. Look at the original bobsled team members being interviewed in Germany a couple of years ago.

When he lived in Toronto he used to go by the name Bumpy and perform with Ishan people. No lox in sight. (Well when he was going back and forth I guess he had short lox.)
