Best "Suspense" writers

Can you tell me who your favourite suspense writers are????

I'd like to pick up some books this weekend and I haven't a clue who try...

Just finish reading "A Thin Dark Line" by Tami Hoag - and I was dissappointed... nah buy nuh more a fi har sitn...

Oh yeah, and if not suspense (as in crime fic), then espionage will do!

i would say robert ludlum, caz you never really know what's going on with the characters.

barbara vine - i read this book called the house of stairs and all now mi noh know what it's about. talk about suspense. was there a murder or not?

Mystery is 'tame' suspense, in my opinion. Don't like mysteries.

I have only read one Mosely book and it was neither mysterious nor suspenseful. Good though.

That book cum movie - Devil in a Blue dress was a mystery, a 'who-dunnit'.

hmmm...you may like Christopher Brookmyre, who's listed as a mystery writer, but is actually all suspense - there's no doubt about who's the killer, the story is about the catching. Lots of action.

Any of his books are good. Scottish writer, occasionally dips some Americans into his story.

I have yet to read the blue dress novel. Not all his books are thrillers. The Fearless Jones Series has more adventure than the Easy Rollins series.

When I was a teen, I read my first Stephen King - Salem's Lot. Lawks... scared the crap outta me! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] I waited bout ten years later to read another King, just to assure myself that he really isn't my cup o'tea...

Dean Koontz - nah... too gory...

Don't like horror suspense... I like crime/action

So I will be adding Christopher Brookmyre to my list of ones to suss out this w/end. Thanks mtng...

Should check out some Moseley's too - always up for good books... which of Moseley's is your fave, Pep?

Found a really good suspense writer recently. So far he has written only 3 books ... Allan Folsom. If you like high action suspense, with adventure then look for "The Day After Tomorrow", "The Exile" and "Day of Confession".

Another really good suspense writer whose books I've enjoyed is Greg Iles ... Blood Memory, Mortal Fear ad the Quiet Game. Excellent suspense books to read.
