Dear Friends,
Our daughter, Julia, has accomplished quite an exciting thing:
Last year in Atlanta she got the idea to get a song written, and then
she persuaded Akon and Keri Hilson to sing it, then she helped to
produce the song, and then she sold the song to Pepsi, who will use
her song, Oh Africa, as the theme song for their Pepsi ads for Soccer
World Cup in S. Africa this year! So when you are watching Soccer
World Cup on TV this year, look out for the Pepsi ads and think our
our “Jamaican” girl, Jules Dougall! I am forwarding you the link so
you can listen to the song and look at the accompanying video. Jules
was not involved in the concept or the making of the video to go with
the song, but Pepsi did fly her and Akon to Johannesburg for the
filming of the video, and there she met the soccer players who are in
the video... Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Ricardo Kaka, Drogba, Frank
Lampard, Archevin etc., and she saw them again in L.A. where they
finished up the filming.
Enjoy, and be proud of yet another Jamaican making a mark in the big wide world!

2). The Music Video for "Oh Africa" (The music video was especially
exciting because this was the first time in history that pepsi did a
music video for a World Cup song, but they loved the song so much they
wanted to push it on its own, separately form the commercial. The song
will also be on Akon's next Album.)
