lol..you asked....i've got dragons of all types..but I think (for the most part) the recurring theme is they form some type of bond with humans..
Anne Mccaffery's <span style="font-weight: bold">The Dragonriders of Pern</span> is a classic.
.there must be 20 or more books in the series now..her son's taken over most or the writing and i've not read the last few..but ooh the early ones..I just got a chill thinking about the first time i read these books...it's time for a reread

i believe all the books have been collected into one or two volumes ..
I just finished reading the first in the <span style="font-weight: bold">Dragon Quartet </span>series..The Book of Earth...very interesting mix of fantasy and sci fi....looking forward to the others in the series..so far not as eurocentric as the genre tends to be
i have to check my library to see what else you might find interesting...
