so was Uncle Tom really an Uncle Tom... as I have heard discussions by people who read it that it is not as simple as that...???

i have no desire to read it again because I read it and thought it was forgettable.. in fact I was so underwelmed that I forgot that I did!!! I was about 12 or 13 my hardy bouy book phase!

I finished reading this today. You were right about having to get past the language (and I can have a trash mouth when I choose to). But it was a very good book.
