This book was recommended to me as a light read and I am glad I took the time out to check it out. Although it is a childrens book, adults will certainly enjoy its humour. Nothing like I expected from a Jamaican author.

It was a light quick read and as someone who attended boarding school, it brought back memories of my own school years. The setting was nondescript enough that it could have been anywhere although one knew it was setting was not too far north of the equator (warm xmas).

The grammar bothered me a bit but I chalked it up to the writing style of the author

That was what I thought as well, kind of old fashioned would be the best way to describe it.

It's 'The Pirate's Daughter' by Margaret Cezair. I haven't been reading for a while so i'm playing catching up.

PD is a good book. if you haven't read her other one "True History of Paradise" you should. Extremely good read.
