Reggaeton is HUGE in Cuba. I have quite a few knock off cds that I have purchased on my trips there over the last few years. Most have no label or no track titles, just music. &quot;Es Cuba!&quot;

Most of it I hate but the very odd song really cathes my ear and sticks with me.

funny enough i had a girlfriend who was studying in Cuba and she got into the whole reggaeton thing and turned me on to it as well...this was back in 05...the novelty has sorta worn off for me

I missed this thread,hasnt been around these parts of late,I am a big fan of reggaeton,I do a lot of salsa dancing so being a jamaican in a salsa club regularly naturally I took to reggaeton,...I personally dont mind that it's a bit of a rip off of the jamaican genre,I rather see it more as a compliment.
Quite a few dancehall artistes has collaborated with reggaeton singers,I have a CD with beenie doing a collab with don omar,or one a dem man deh,...on the whole though music is music,if it makes you feel good who cares ?........reggaeton is passionate and sexy,the salsa club that I go to when the reggaeton section comes on it's just like being in a dancehall atmosphere,even the man dem bruk out big time,....and the atmosphere is a lot less threatening than a dancehall venue.
