Sowell is a big fan of Milton Friedman whose once highly touted Chicago School economic policies are now regarded as trash. Friedman' neo-liberal economics devastated Latin American countries and are just laissez-faire conservative clap trap.

Sowell is a conservative/libertarian who doesn't like the idea of a minimum wage or welfare.

To be a black conservative is to be a class traitor.

I'm sure his book will have many simplistic libertarian answers to very complex problems similar to the simple mindedness that the Tea Party offer.

Like Friedman's theories, they sound good to the uninformed but don't work in reality.

Sowell: a Clarence Thomas who actually talks but shouldn't.

Tea Party members are CONSERVATIVES. Friedman, Sowell, Walter Williams, and I are NOT CONSERVATIVES. We are Libertarians.

Capitalism is the only economic system which has given great results. The free markets works, unlike socialism which is nothing more than emotionalism superseding rationalism with no good outcome.

Socialism never worked in the USSR, China nor Cuba. What we see in Cuba is necessity being the mother of invention. They are barely surviving. Why do Cubans still set sail for Miami? Why Cuba's Tourist industry is model after the capitalist?

Friedman policies <span style="font-weight: bold">DID NOT</span> devastate Latin America. Chile did not fully embrace the free market. Pinochet was still a dictator, the people were not free! Look at Hong Kong vs Chile. Hong Kong or Singapore vs. USSR. USSR had resources and central planning yet the socialist fail to prosper, while Hong Kong had no natural resources nor central planning, however they had a better result.

Sowell was a MARXIST before he became a Libertarian. He came to his senses when he worked for the government and saw firsthand the inefficiencies of centralize planning.

In the United States some %5 of the population controls 80-90% of the wealth. That is not free market, that is not even classic capitalism. It is totalitarian oligarchy.
You seem to be living and thinking in a 1980 Reagan fantasy.

In the world each year tens of millions will die from the effects of poverty because they live in free market economies in the Third World where there are a handful of very wealthy and millions of dreadfully poor for each one of those wealthy people.

Well over 20% of the world's population struggle to survive on $1-2 dollars a day.
In the United States 25% live in poverty and this is the richest most capitalist country to ever have existed. Even in the highs of the Clinton years when the U.S economy hit its peak they failed to lower the poverty rate below 20%.


I don't know what further proof you need to understand that capitalism may work very well for a relative few to amass huge fortunes but if that is the extent of what you call success then there is no doubt your moral compass is seriously out of whack.


No one's right to sit on huge piles of money should supersede the rights of millions of others to live decent lives and spare me that nonsense that all these wealthy people EARNED those huge sums of money and property.

The lifeboat ethic applies here. If you have a life boat afloat on the vast ocean and you have twenty people in the boat and one person has 90% of the food and water and refuses to share it, would you then consider that also a moral or correct way to be?

Maybe YOU would but that's not how morality and/or democracy works and whether it is on one small lifeboat floating in the middle of the ocean or one one small planet floating in the vastness of space, the morals and the principles of democracy are the same.
Capitalism not only doesn't work for the greater benefit of humanity it is a detriment and THE impediment to a more civilized society.

Put down your club and come out of that cave; that Neanderthal and immoral way of thinking, you're holding up societal evolution.
At least pretend to be civilized.

I read some Chomsky. However I realized that he's a linguist who stepped out of his core discipline and decide to meddle in an arena which he has no authority to speak about. Johnny when I I compare the liberal's view with the facts. They just don't adds up. All my research lead me tot he same conclusion as friedman, Sowell Williams, Rand and the Austrian school. That if we allow the free market to work with &quot;less&quot; government and more competition things would be better.

I read left source stuff. I am about to read Robert Reich book. However I am scared! I always have nightmare's when I read leftty's (Liberal) books

The fact that you don't know that a liberal is not a leftist betrays your lack of knowledge.
Chomsky happens to be an anarcho-syndicalist, a term of which you have absolutely no understanding. He is on the left. The left bears no resemblance to liberal, liberals being Republican-Lite in the eyes of us leftists.
He has recently been recognized as the world's leading intellectual and so being the top man in the field of linguistics and the foremost and most knowledgeable critic of U.S. foreign policy is easily within his intellectual capacity. I would challenge you to find any thing that is in error in any of the 100 or so books he has written or in any of the myriad articles he's written.r

It is quite understandable that you do not (cannot) read the writings of people like Chomsky and the reasons are clearly laid out in a Paul Street article at ZNET today.

Here's the link: I know it is not likely that you will be able to read it but by doing so you can gain an understanding of how the lefts thinks about people on the right.
