Borders bookstore

are they still in the going out of business transition? Meaning... stores not 100% shutdown in your neighbourhood?

3 weeks ago I stopped by the Borders in my area, not knowing at the time they were going of business. The store was jam packed... I left as the checkout line was reaching towards the back of the store.
Kinda wish I had the patience to stick around and look for some choice books....

I think the ones in my area that were scheduled to close have already closed. I know for sure the two that I used to frequent are closed.

I checked out one last week which is usually 2 floors. They were down to a couple books on the shelves on 1 floor, and fixtures were being sold as well.

So by now they are probably completely empty.

90% sale going on now so that means they are closing down very soon.. Fixtures &amp; things going

Nat a eartly wan lef here in MD Sandif. Only Barnes and Noble standing.

So many companies like them are going 6 feet under. When you see a new store take over the spot of an old store that is when it hits you.

Was in a mall and saw new stores in spots where: Linen And Things, Borders and Circuit City, and Value City once stood. Man oh man ..it a get dread out deh

Well Borders (like many other brick and mortar stores) didn't really think that this whole e-commerce thing was here to stay. They sat back and allowed the ship to sink.

Gawd knows how B&amp;N still standing. They have a textbook only store here in lower manhattan though love it

Once Amazon come pan di scene it was game over.

B &amp; N diversified and got themselves into the e-commerce and e-reader business
I can see how they are surviving. They have aligned themselves with other businesses and ventures that kept them afloat. Right now as much as Amazon a sell nuff book B&amp;N a gi dem a run fi dem money cause their aim is to beat amazon prices.

Yes they diversified. Took them a minute to figure that out though, but yes dem doing much better these days cause dem almost had to write dem obit.

Still, I like going in and flipping thru the mags and books and drink the 2000 calorie mocha suh mi hope dem stick around

likkelgen is in there at least once a week sometimes every day

I agree.. I think everything online is not a good thing. People need to get out and about.
Business who do tings the old fashion way wi mek money offa mi cause mi old school soh til it look bad. Mi nat even use self checkout at the supamarket

society silk adjust And more will sell..
just think how much easier it is to get a text translated to other language and have it sold in other countries??
