Guitar Players

After many years of talking about it, I've finally made the decision to start playing the acoustic guitar. Well, I was in xsCargo and they had guitars at prices I was willing to spend so that helped me to make the decision. Anyway, are there are any guitar players here? If so, was it easy and fast? Did you experience sore and corny fingers? Did you take lessons or were you self taught?

Let me hear your thoughts and experience. My next option is to take up sewing because I was in Walmart last night and noticed a really nice Singer for $89.00...but that's another forum.

Mi bredda play di strings, but nat mi. By di way, dem hav oomen wid special skills, whe play wid long fingernails.

started out on my own but took bass guitar lessons at a point...practice is crucial to the development

My one advice make sure and learn the notes so that you can play other instruments that how the music teacher taught my niece

My Dad is self taught-left his guitar in JA-retired and purchased a new one recently. You may be better off with some lessons initially.

You will need to practice, practice, practice.

I started taking guitar lessons when I was in middle school, but I didn't like it.
